The United States of America Consulate General invites applications for a full-time Consular Supervisor: Visa Portfolio located in our Consular Affairs Section in Auckland. The Consular Supervisor is one of two Locally Employed Staff supervisors in the Consular Section who will monitor/evaluate/develop the performance of four Consular Assistants and four indirect subordinates. You will be expected to resolve a wide variety of problems, be an expert in diplomatic and official visa regulations and will serve as the section's fraud prevention assistant. The incumbent must possess strong organizational and management skills, intellectual skills, deep substantive knowledge of Non-Immigrant visas (NIV) and Immigrant visas (IV) procedures, fraud prevention principles and techniques, and must be able to work in a high-stress, high productivity environment independently with little supervisory oversight. To be successful in this role, you must be able to work under significant pressure while handling a high volume of sensitive cases involving difficult customers. We are looking for a professional who has good computer skills and strong knowledge of office procedures, with a minimum of five (5) years experience involving application of regulations and laws with extensive public contact and a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience. You must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to lead a team and develop others' performance. Completion of at least two years of full-time post-secondary study at college or university is also required. Must have a valid, current Class 1 driver's license for a minimum of five (5) years. The salary range for this position is NZ$92,721.00 –125,175.00 per annum. Actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience and internal equities.
