This is a hard-working role essentially needed in the building and construction industry. A construction worker (labour) is required to assist the construction team in performing a variety of routine tasks associated with all sorts of construction works in building and construction projects.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Prepare construction sites, materials, and tools.
Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around building sites.
Remove debris, rubbish, and dangerous materials from construction sites.
Mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete, plaster, and mortar.
Perform general duties, such as cleaning and carrying out minor repairs on construction sites.
Assist to load, unload, and transport heavy machinery and equipment.
Assist with removing or installing fixtures such as toilets, wash basins, and assembling prefabricated furniture and fixtures.
Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations.
Assist other contractors as required, e.g., scaffolders, painters, tilers, carpenters, etc.
Take other relevant duties as required by the construction supervisor or site manager.
