Tarora Development is currently renovating historic villas and developing a hospitality complex on an idyllic 1,000 hectare private estate, located 30-minutes outside the closest township of Te Anau.
This unique project includes renovation of classic timber villas, as well as building a new hospitality complex.
Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced General Construction Worker with a minimum of three years of industry experience or relevant qualification. You will be working alongside our onsite team as well as a team of external consultants including architects, engineers, designers, and planners.
As part of our onsite team, you will play an important role in bringing the concept design to life, with the goal of creating a unique residential and hospitality complex. Reporting directly to our onsite Project Manager, you will be part of our hands-on construction team working on various stages of this development.
Duties & Responsibilities
Studying drawings and plans, and estimating quantities of materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures.
Erecting frameworks, roof frames, scaffolding, roofs, and walls.
Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting wall cladding and door and window frames.
Operating machines and hand tools to cut and shape stones, bricks, and timber.
Laying sub floors, floorboards, carpets, and tiles.
Painting and wallpapering surfaces.
Applying plaster and cement coatings to walls.
Building and installing fittings.
Experience & Skills
Minimum three years of industry experience (and/or)
Certificate in relevant field.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative construction team.
Enthusiastic, flexible, adaptive, self-motivated, with an eye for detail.
First aid training (preferred, not required).
Package
Full-time, permanent position (minimum 32 hours/week).
Daily transfer from/to Te Anau.
