Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a proven track record of successfully managing solar EPC projects from inception to completion for this large-scale solar EPC project in Christchurch, New Zealand. This is a two-year fixed term contract role with FIFO options.
The Role
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the construction phase of a large scale (170MW) solar EPC project in Christchurch, New Zealand. This role demands a high level of expertise in solar energy projects, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of the construction phase of the 170MW solar EPC project.
Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget
Coordinate and supervise the work of contractors, subcontractors, and on-site personnel.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays promptly.
Collaborate with the engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Manage project resources, including labour, equipment, and materials.
Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure construction standards are met.
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during the construction phase.
Experience and qualifications:
Work rights and the ability to work in New Zealand
Proven track record of successfully managing solar EPC projects from inception to completion.
At least 5 years in professional construction management
Bachelor's degree in engineering with any discipline or a related field.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations related to solar projects & Commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of construction.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
