Construction Electrical Trades Assistant

RM Homes Canterbury is a boutique building company, which designs and builds timeless and comfortable   homes   for   New   Zeal and   families.
We are currently looking for a Construction Electrical Trades Assistant   to join our friendl y workplace in Christchurch.
What the role involves Ability to read and examine blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.
Performs and oversees  the  electrical works of our construction projects in coordination with our electrical (registered) contractors; learning the electrical systems and where circuits, panel boards, and outlets need to be placed for our building projects.
Assist our contractors in performing installation of electrical devices, electrical wiring, installation of gas appliances and air conditioning piping and ducting, repairing or replacing faulty wiring and defective parts.
Using electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults.
Connecting electrical systems to power supply.
Positioning and installing electrical switchboards.
Can understand and  study drawings and building plans.
Requirements The job requires someone who has a qualification in electrical or electrical engineering OR have at least three years of relevant work experience.
Preferably has a background in the building and construction industry, but not required.
With a good attitude and good health & safety awareness.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and ability to work well within a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Clear verbal and written communication skills.
What we offer A competitive remuneration package between $29.66 - $34 an hour ( depending on qualification or work experience .)
