As a Consents Coordinator, you'll be a key player in providing efficient and effective consent administration, ensuring resource consents are lodged, processed, issued, and invoiced smoothly.In this proactive role, you'll be part of a dedicated consents team, building strong relationships with planners and both internal and external stakeholders to meet legislative timelines and uphold our 'Customer Service Promise'.If you're detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you!This role is fixed term until July 2025.You'll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council's work.Key Responsibilities:Receive new resource consent applications, prepare them in the appropriate format for vetting, and forward them to the vetting officer.Enter data into the Council's resource consent database according to the lodgement procedure.Allocate applications to the appropriate planner, assign lodgement deposits, and send acknowledgment letters.Issue consent decisions, set up conditions and monitoring schedules, and raise purchase orders for invoice payments.Deliver prompt, informative, and courteous service as needed, and provide support with telephonist/receptionist duties for the Consents group.Receive and assist with Request for Service requests, ensuring completion in line with our commitment to the 'Customer Service Promise'.Minimum Requirements:Three years of administrative experience.Proven ability to communicate effectively with the public.Strong numerical accuracy.Demonstrated organisational skills.Ability to read and interpret plans and diagrams.Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.High proficiency in Microsoft Office products.Flexible on start and finish times.Benefits:Relocation assistance.Allocated training budget for career development and to support professional affiliation membership (where relevant to the role).Work with a great team and enjoy regular, lively social events!Access to reduced health insurance premiums for you and your family through Southern Cross.Walking distance to the CBD.Modern office space.Free eye exams.Access to free independent counselling and support services for you and your family.Annual flu vaccinations and health checks.1 of 6 Unitary Authorities in NZ.Here at Gisborne District Council, we pull our values from the community we serve.
