To help us with this, we are searching for a Conduct Risk & Oversight Specialist to join the Risk team, at our Head Office in Invercargill, on a fixed term basis.
What you'll be busy with:
The purpose of this role is to support the management and oversight of Conduct Risk and related activities across the Bank and Group in collaboration with internal stakeholders. This includes identifying, preventing, detecting and remediating Conduct Risk and culture issues and providing periodic reporting to Bank and Group governance committees.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
Supporting the ongoing assessment of Bank Conduct Risks and controls.
Completing regular monitoring of complaints, customer feedback, incidents and other second line reviews as appropriate to identify actual or potential conduct and culture issues.
Monitoring and reporting on SBS Bank's Fair Conduct Programme including Conduct Risk assurance activities to determine the effectiveness of policies, processes, and controls, providing an independent assessment of how the Bank is fulfilling its obligations pursuant to the Conduct of Financial Institutions ("CoFI") regime.
Supporting and reviewing Conduct related training and guidance material that helps employees understand good conduct principles and optimal customer outcomes.
Supporting policy owners across the Bank to review and update policies including endorsement and approval through relevant governance committees.
Preparing periodic reporting that provides an overview of Bank and Group policies for senior management and relevant governance committees.

What you'll bring:
Minimum of 3 years financial services industry experience
Experience in writing reports, using data and metrics for insights
Experience in managing multiple/concurrent assignments from beginning to end within a multi-disciplined function
Outcomes focused, results driven and proven success in implementing practical solutions
Proven ability to work collaboratively across whole of function and broader group to reach common approach.
Proven communication skills, industry and relationship management
Strong analytical, interpretation, problem solving and research skills
Strong facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills
Preferred that have Tertiary level qualifications, preferably including banking or finance papers.

This role is fulltime, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. It is fixed term for up to 12 months to cover a Parental Leave situation.
