We are on the hunt for a practical and people-centered Compliance Systems Coordinator to join the team at Progressive Meats. Their production plant, based in Hastings, is one of Hawkes Bay's most long-standing privately owned meat processing companies. They continue to extend and improve their product offerings to meet the ever-growing customer demands. This role will help ensure they consistently deliver product made to spec and in line with strict food safety standards.
Reporting to the Regulatory Coordinator, this role is all about influencing a quality philosophy across the plant and office environments. You will be helping review and administer quality systems audits, and will support the compliance technical team in ensuring compliance with MPI regulation and animal welfare standards, along with specific customer and export market requirements. You will maintain and develop existing technical systems, provide technical support to the manufacturing teams during process development and investigations, and all the while have an ongoing continuous improvement focus.
To be successful, you will likely have a relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in food science, agriculture or related fields. Relevant certifications in food safety or quality assurance would be a real bonus. We are open-minded to your level of quality and technical experience; either way, food auditing/compliance experience will go well here. You will need the right attitude and intelligence to pick things up and interpret standards and regulations quickly.
Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail is a must. You will build rapport well with people from all walks of life, and you will be able to handle the pressure that comes with working in a highly regulated industry.
If you are ready to step into a hands-on role, and you have the right expertise and/or qualifications and eagerness to develop your career in technical/compliance, then this role could be incredibly satisfying for you. Remuneration will reflect your expertise.
