Are you ready for a new role in a vibrant, growing district?
We're currently seeking a full-time Compliance Officer to join our Building Control team in Alexandra.
This is your chance to work in a dynamic environment in a district with significant growth in both residential and commercial sectors.
The role is responsible for advising, implementing & monitoring compliance with all regulatory requirements for the Building team in accordance with Council's policies, plans, bylaws and legislation.
Key Responsibilities: Monitoring compliance in accordance with the Building Act 2004 Conducting pool inspections and monitoring earthquake-prone buildings Maintaining & monitoring issued Certificates of Public Use and Building Warrants of Fitness Overseeing Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary Buildings What you will need to succeed: A professional qualification in the building industry (e.g.
Reg 18) Excellent communication with a desire to work collaboratively to achieve the right outcomes A solid understanding of current building code and legislation Experience in building control functions including plan processing and inspections (preferred but not essential) Good written skills, as keeping up-to-date consent documentation is essential Proficient in using technology, including tablets to carry out inspections Hold a current driver's licence About the Organisation: At Central Otago District Council we live by our whakatauki: 'Me manaaki tetahi ki tetahi, me pakihiwitahi te tu – kia haere tahi ai tatou.
