About the role
The Three-Waters Compliance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that Matamata-Piako District Council is compliant with all relevant regulations and standards related to water management, specifically in terms of our drinking water, wastewater and stormwater compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Monitoring and auditing Council's three-waters systems to ensure compliance with national and regional water regulations (resource consents and drinking water standards and rules)
Providing technical analysis and advice on three-waters compliance and water demand management
Conducting regular internal/external site visits and inspections to identify potential non-compliances and coordinate incident reporting and/or enforcement
Executing appropriate compliance reporting to regulators as well as internal and external stakeholders
Monitoring water demand and helping lead the summer water alert campaign and water management response
Providing guidance and support to staff on compliance-related matters, including training and development
To set up for success you will have:
A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Degree in Environmental Science, or another science), or equivalent learning through significant experience
Minimum of a year's experience with three-waters compliance, or in another environmental or compliance role
Strong knowledge of national and regional water regulations and industry best practices
Experience with compliance monitoring systems, including Water Outlook and CS VUE
Experience with data manipulation, time series analysis and using compliance monitoring tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
