For a more relaxing experience, there are many walks (bush, coastal or mountain) as well as art trails, festivals and award-winning museums and galleries and a thriving café culture.At Te Whatu Ora Taranaki we are committed to recognising the value our people bring to our organisation within a supportive team of healthcare professionals that provide comprehensive care to our patients.We believe having a workforce that is diverse and inclusive makes us a pro-equity Health Organisation, better positioned to understand and serve our community.When you choose to work with us, we will offer you:A comprehensive orientation and induction to our organisation and your departmentAccess to clinical training and educationUp to date facilitiesOpportunities to participate on local project and regional collaboration teamsWe are welcoming applications from competent and professional allied health practitioners who will be providing caring, and best practice services to our patients that puts them at the centre of everything we do.This is a temporary position for up to one (1) year, with potential to renew subject to a successful pilot.The Complex Surgical Coordinator role aims to improve the coordination and management of patients pre-operatively in order to gain benefits in the pre, peri and post-operative phases of the patient's surgical journey.Responsibilities:General: Oversee management of complex patients through their surgical pathway, from the point of being waitlisted for surgery to being discharged from the hospital.Pre-Admission: Ensure that patients with complex health or social needs have care plans in place, and achieve their "prehabilitation" goals in order to be as optimised as possible for their elective surgery journey.Wards: Continue to actively manage patients with complex health or social needs through their ward stay, with a view to facilitating timely discharge and reducing average length of stay.
