We are committed to providing outstanding competition experiences for players, coaches, officials, and supporters. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in ensuring our competitions are well-organised, engaging, and inclusive. We are a lead association within the connected hockey delivery network, in this role you will help us to support our surrounding associations.About the Role:As the Competitions Manager, you'll be at the heart of our hockey community, responsible for planning, organising, and executing all competitions under Otago Hockey. You'll work closely with clubs, schools, and volunteers to create an environment where players of all levels can thrive. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the high standards that Otago Hockey is known for.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement competition structures, schedules, and formats.Manage the logistics of venues, registration (Play HQ), and resources.Act as the primary contact for all competition-related inquiries.Oversee the day-to-day operations of hockey events, ensuring everything runs smoothly.Engage with stakeholders, including clubs, schools, and volunteers, to promote participation.Monitor and evaluate competition performance, making improvements where necessary.Manage budgets and ensure the financial sustainability of competitions.What We're Looking For:Experience in a community sport environment.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.A passion for hockey and a commitment to the development of the sport in Otago.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.This role is intended to average 30 hours across a 12 month period. Given the seasonal nature of many of the key tasks we are open to how these hours could be more heavily skewed to our busier winter months, freeing you up for other opportunities or to enjoy more of your NZ summer.
