Specialising in apple and kiwifruit products, we support branded manufacturers locally and internationally.Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Company Accountant to become an integral part of our team.
This is a 4-day a week role.The role:Reporting to the General Manager, the Company Accountant will take ownership of financial management and reporting, playing a key role in budgeting, forecasting, foreign exchange, and cashflow management.
This hands-on role involves providing critical insights and advice to support informed business decisions.You will oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, inventory accounting, the asset register, and revenue recognition.
Other responsibilities include preparing monthly management accounts and forecasts, managing liquidity and foreign exchange, and contributing to annual budgeting and variance analysis.You'll also lead month-end and year-end close processes, oversee audits, ensure tax compliance, and strengthen internal controls and business processes.
Additionally, you'll support the team by stepping in for accounts receivable/payable invoicing when needed, ensuring continuity and smooth operations.The essential skills and experience needed for growing success:An interest and experience in forecastingProven accounting/finance experience in a commercial environmentThorough knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresAn understanding of relevant accounting standards would be beneficialExperience with general ledger functions, month-end, year-end close processDemonstrated experience preparing and presenting reports to senior management/board membersKnowledge of booking/settling foreign exchange transactions would be an advantageA proven track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders.A proactive, "can-do" attitude and a solutions-focused approachIf you believe you have the skills and attributes we are looking for, then please apply now with a full CV and Cover Letter.
