About us
Since Camellia House opened, we have provided accommodation and support for hundreds of Wahine and continue to work towards our mission to "Provide a safe and supportive service for residents to feel empowered and connected within their community." Camellia House has been home to numerous Wahine and their Tamariki, providing a safe, caring, learning, living environment. We offer education programs and support services that make a real difference in the lives of the Wahine and Tamariki we support. This is a permanent role for 30 hours per week.
Qualifications & experience
This role is suitable for an experienced:
Social Worker, Community Liaison advisor, Navigator or an experienced community worker in Manawatu area.
Experience working with whanau with a wide variety of needs is desired.
Experience and knowledge of local community providers is desired.
Skills and experience within previous health and wellbeing providers is desired.
A clean full driver's license.
All employment offers are subject to the completion of a satisfactory Ministry of Justice criminal record and Vulnerable Children's Act checks.
Applicants for this position will need to have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
Tasks & responsibilities
Develop and implement support plans with our residents and assist them in reaching their individual and whanau potential.
Empower whanau to live independently by providing holistic support.
Empower Wahine and their whanau to access support and resources within the wider community and, where appropriate, advocate on their behalf.
Share hope and inspiration that will encourage whanau to transform and thrive.
