Together, we're on a journey to see communities transformed and futures reimagined through compassion, connection, and action.Mo te turanga | About the roleAs a Community Worker, you will spend 80% of your time providing face-to-face support to whanau in housing need. This role focuses on providing practical assistance to whanau, connecting them to essential services, and supporting them in their housing journey. The position also involves outreach, community-building, and maintaining strong partnerships with local churches and community organizations.Some Key ResponsibilitiesAssist whanau with accessing essential items such as food, furniture, housing, employment, power, and insurance.Work closely with individuals and families to assess their housing needs, provide tailored support plans, and connect them to available housing options and services.Establish and maintain strong, trusting relationships with local community organisations, service providers, and stakeholdersEnsure that all policies and procedures of the Trust and all relevant legislative requirements are met.Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and document destruction when and where appropriate.Report accidents, incidents, injuries, and hazards promptly to management and ensure safe practices are adhered to.Qualification, Experience and RequirementsStrong connections within the community and with relevant agencies.A desire and ability to work with individuals and whanau who have experienced homelessness.Proven experience delivering excellent customer service, both in person and via phone interactions.Experience of lone working in people's homes with a strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.A clean, current car driver's full license and willingness to travel.A proactive, self-driven individual who is comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative team.He aha tau e whiwhi ai? | What's in it for you?An opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable whanau and communities.A supportive and collaborative team environment that values innovation and integrity.A chance to work in an organisation committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Competitive salary and opportunities for professional growth.Immediate Sick Leave: Start with sick leave entitlement from your first day.Dedicated Wellbeing Days: Receive 5 Wellbeing Days each year to recharge and focus on what matters most to you.Work Close to Home: If you live in West Auckland, you'll appreciate the convenience of working close to home.Join us in creating meaningful change for New Zealand communities.
