Community Support Worker - Supported Independent Living - North Auckland Part Time: 10 hours
Pay: $23.38 - $29.10 per hour
Location: Birkdale, Auckland
We are looking for someone interested in bush walks, sports photography, vinyl record shops, and gardening (growing fruit and vegetables).
In Supported Independent Living, we provide services for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities within their own homes and out into their community. We offer 1:1 support, which consists of a range of hours between 6am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday.
Responsibilities: Assist with daily activities such as community participation, socializing, work or education, personal cares, and domestic chores.Be responsible for reporting and administration.Skills & Experience: Empathy for the challenges of building an ordinary life while living with a disability.Energy to keep up with someone who is active.Ability to remain calm and calming in all situations.Resilience to help people maintain boundaries for their safety.Good at explaining and negotiating.Effective communication skills to support families, colleagues, and the person you support.Willingness to provide support and motivation with personal cares and daily living skills.The ideal candidate will have: An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification (support available while you work).Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health issues, or challenging behaviors (desirable but not necessary).Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people.A full New Zealand driver's licence.Able to pass a NZ police check.Ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email.If you're interested in supporting people to develop self-confidence and independence and live their lives of choice, we want to hear from you today!

At least 3 years of relevant work experience, orA relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) — this must be at least a level 4 qualification for a role at skill level 3, or a diploma for a role at skill level 2.
