Community Support Worker/Security support at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Tairawhiti, Gisborne This non Clinical position exists to provide high quality, safe and secure along with culturally appropriate support for whanau living with or affected by mental illness or addiction issues.This role will be based at Te Whare Oranga Community Mental Health Services and will work within this service and across the community to ensure the safety of whaiora/whanau and staff working within this setting.
The role is specifically to support those whanau that traditionally have not wished to engage with mental health services despite experiencing a severe and enduring mental illness and maybe displaying at risk behaviours towards others.
The role will work in an assertive outreach model adopting a what ever it takes approach to engage with whanau and build a therapeutic relationship.
