Skills & Experience Empathy for the challenges of trying to build an ordinary life while living with a disabilityEnergy to keep up with someone who likes to be on the go a lotAbility to remain calm, and calming, in all situationsResilience to help people keep boundaries to ensure their safetyGood at explaining and negotiatingAbility to communicate effectively and supportively with family, colleagues and the person you supportAbility and willingness to provide support and motivation with personal cares and daily living skillsThe ideal candidate will have: An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification - we can support you to achieve this while you workExperience supporting people with disabilities, and/or mental health issues, and/or behaviours that can be challenging is desirable but not necessaryReliability, commitment, and passion for working with peopleA full New Zealand driver's licenceAble to pass a NZ police checkThe ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and emailApply now if you have a passion for working with people and want to make a difference!
