Our services provide a safe and positive environment where our clients are assisted to achieve maximum independence.The RoleYour role will include supporting the clients to participate in meaningful activities in the community, assisting with daily house tasks, and providing support with personal hygiene.
You will further assist in gaining and maintaining social, health, education, whanau, and cultural reconnection.Excellent communication and networking skills and the ability to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff, and external agencies is essential.
Previous professional experience in the intellectual disability field will be an advantage.Your days may vary, but will consist of:Engaging with clients.Setting and achieving individual personal goals.Encouraging client participation in day-to-day life.Supporting them with activities of daily living.Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs.Supporting clients with personal hygiene.Activities within the community.Supporting social and whanau connection.Motivating clients to know they have purpose.Ensuring client processes are accurately documented.Most importantly, supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives.As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend, awake night, and sleepover shifts.
Current hours of work are 24 hours per fortnight - must be available on weekends.Pact is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to work alongside people with an intellectual disability who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, and possess excellent interpersonal skills and a 'can do' attitude.Minimum RequirementsA full driver's licence and computer skills are essential.If on a work visa, it must be valid for at least twelve months.If shortlisted, you must be available for an interview in Invercargill.Please do not apply unless you already have the right to work in New Zealand.
