About the RoleThe Intensive Day Programme has a full-time permanent position for a community support worker to join our dynamic team. The Intensive Day Programme is an exciting and busy service with a strong reputation for excellence and innovation. We provide a structured day treatment programme that provides clients the chance to participate in meaningful activities to aid in their own recovery.
About the Team/Service/LocationWe are a passionate multi-disciplinary team which brings with its professional growth and strong collegial support. In addition to working within the Intensive Day Programme Team, we are also driven to develop resources within the Hawkes Bay community. This is a chance for you to contribute to the wider sector of Hawkes Bay.
About YouTo apply for this role, we require you to have previous experience as well as a passion for working with those with mental health problems. As a Community Support Worker, you will be expected to support people in developing independent daily living skills, engaging in meaningful activities, and supporting people in the community under the guidance of a registered mental health professional. We encourage new graduates and those with less experience but who are passionate about working in mental health to apply.
Minimum RequirementsThe successful candidate must also have:
Good communication skills and be willing to liaise with professionals from different agencies both internal and external to Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora.A valid NZ Annual Practising Certificate (APC).A National Certificate in Mental Health Support Work at Level 4.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.Experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
