Community Support Worker - Choice In Community Living - South Auckland Part Time, 32 hours Salary: $23.38 - $29.10 per hour
Location: Flat Bush, Auckland
In Choices in Community Living, we provide services for adults with physical and intellectual disabilities within their own homes and out into their community. We provide 1:1 support which consists of a range of hours between 6am to 9pm Monday to Sunday.
Responsibilities: Assist with daily activities such as community participation, socializing, work or education, personal cares, and domestic chores.Report and manage administration tasks related to the support provided.Skills & Experience: Empathy for the challenges of building an ordinary life while living with a disability.Energy to keep up with individuals who are active.Ability to remain calm and calming in all situations.Resilience to help maintain safety boundaries.Good at explaining and negotiating.Effective and supportive communication with family, colleagues, and the person being supported.Willingness to provide support and motivation with personal cares and daily living skills.Ideal Candidate: An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification.Experience supporting people with disabilities or mental health issues is desirable but not necessary.Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people.A full New Zealand driver's licence.Able to pass a NZ police check.Ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email.If you're interested in supporting people to develop self-confidence and independence, and live their lives of choice in their communities, then we want to hear from you!
