If so, we want to hear from you.About the role | Ko te mahi neiAs a Community Recreation Adviser, you'll encourage strengths-based, positive recreation opportunities that enhance well-being, a sense of belonging and that build social connectedness.Working alongside communities to establish and support successful partnerships, you'll be culturally aware with a track record of empowering local people with diverse backgrounds. With a track record of engaging with community groups, you'll support them to find their own solutions to their own identified issues; all the while building capability and community capacity.Key ResponsibilitiesExceptional communication skills with proven experience in building and maintaining positive relationships.Naturally recognise opportunities and develop pragmatic responses to community issues.Be self-motivated and service-driven; provide information and advice to community organisations and other stakeholders to help them understand and navigate local government, facilitating partnerships between communities and the Council which support self-sustaining communities and meeting Council outcomes.Provide professional advice and recommendations to decision-makers regarding the use and management of resources and take a lead role in implementing the goals of the Council's Strengthening Communities Strategy as well as the Council's various Community Grants Schemes.High level of attention to detail, demonstrated experience in community recreation and working with a local authority or government/community organisation.What's in it for you?
