Community Mentor / Rangatahi Youth Worker

At R13 Youth Development Trust, we want to play a part in supporting all young Rangatahi to feel great about their futures. We believe in the importance of community, connection, and relationships - and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures.
Due to an increase in demand for our services, we are currently looking to employ a Community Mentor / Rangatahi Youth Worker for 30 to 40 hours per week.
About You
If you're passionate about youth and want to make a real impact, this is your chance. You'll need to build genuine relationships with Rangatahi, creating a safe and nurturing environment where Rangatahi feel supported.
You will be working with young people planning a suite of activities and programmes individually designed to help them meet goals.
A full New Zealand driver's license is required for this position.
While having previous experience is a bonus, your passion and drive to help young people succeed is what truly matters.
Experience/Skills Required
Strong engagement with Rangatahi / youth and government agencies.
Operational knowledge of child development and youth mentoring.
Good understanding of adolescent behaviour.
Knowledge of legislation associated with working with Rangatahi.
Social Worker / Counselling qualifications would be an advantage but not essential.
