Community Mental Health Support Worker  Full time (40hrs) Based at 334 Lincoln Road Christchurch Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community.
We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services.
A great opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join the Community Support Service.
This service provides support and assistance for people with mental health/AOD issues living in the community.
Responsibilities include: Working with a defined caseload of individuals to enhance their community living skills and to develop self-management of their lives,Assisting clients make connections with appropriate services/agencies and ensure required services are received,Active participation in shared planning with the client, their family, other clinical and non-clinical providers,Communication and liaison with health and community agencies,Maintaining accurate health records and statistical data.Experience in the mental health or related fields is essential with preference given to applicants holding the Health and Wellbeing/National Certificate in Mental Health Community Support Work Level 4 or equivalent qualification.
Comcare seeks staff who are positive, mature in attitude, reliable and who understand recovery principles and the application of a strengths approach to community support work.
You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Applicants must hold a current full, clean driver's license.
