About the Role The Psychiatric Consult Liaison Service provides access to assessment, treatment, and advice to the general hospitals of Christchurch for psychological and psychiatric issues that impact a person's medical care and their ability to manage their illness.
Working out of the clinical environment based at the Christchurch Hospital, your professional approach will see you working alongside health professionals in providing access to assessment and treatment advice for consumers whose presentation includes psychiatric symptoms.
Our short to medium term service is available to patients in the ED and wards at Christchurch Hospital. You will be an experienced Community Mental Health Nurse, familiar and confident with implementing interventions for consumers experiencing psychiatric crises, and will bring a breadth of knowledge, assessment, and treatment skills to this permanent, part-time position.
This position requires someone who has the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in an integrated manner. With your knowledge base, you'll be well equipped to support staff from a range of professional backgrounds with advice and clinical consultation.
There is a permanent 0.7 FTE role available, working a roster of 3 on and 3 off.

About You As a professional and highly motivated nurse who displays a positive attitude and enthusiasm for this area of work, you will enjoy being part of a committed and diverse multidisciplinary team. You will work in collaboration with a group of professionals that recognizes the importance of providing quality care and services to their clients, supports, and whanau.Assessment, development of recovery plans, and liaising with whanau and other carers, NGOs, police, probation, and other services is all part of the Community Mental Health Nurse role.Must hold a Full Driver's Licence, current APC, and have a Mental Health Nursing Scope of Practice.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.
