Mo te turanga | About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Clinicians (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or DAPAANZ registered health professional) to join our Lakes Opioid Treatment Service (LOTS) in the Adult Community Mental Health & Addictions Service. The service has a strong therapeutic approach and works in close partnership with the Lakes community addiction providers. Although the role is based in Rotorua, services extend to the satellite office in Taupo.
Part time (two roles of up to 28 hours per week), working business hours (Mon – Fri 8am to 4:30pm)
Provide specialist intervention for people to optimise recovery and quality of life as well as case coordination.
To provide community mental health care based on current best practice and collaborative working within the interdisciplinary team.
Ensure all inter-disciplinary referrals within the team will be performed with consent from whaiora and their whanau (where applicable).
Work collaboratively with complementary internal and external partner organisations.
Develop sound legislative knowledge, particularly as pertains to the SACAT Act.

Te Ara Tauwhirotanga is the product of extensive co-design with over 400 participants from the Lakes DHB community, a model that clearly articulates what works for people in their recovery and healing journey.
The successful candidate will:
Be a registered Nurse or other suitably qualified health professional with experience in a community mental health and/or addictions environment.
Have sound assessment, psychosocial intervention and talking therapy skills.
You will be competent in all facets of assessment, holistic care and multi-disciplinary team work and have demonstrated ability to work with all ethnicities, particularly Maori/Iwi.
Have an Annual Practising Certificate & Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand or other regulatory body.
Salary range
As per relevant Single Employer Collective Agreement pro-rated to hours worked and qualifications/experience.
