Community Manager (New Zealand – Part Time) We are looking for a collaborative creative-minded person to take on the role of Community Manager for our virtual events platform SOCIAL [working title].
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable engaging directly with end users, whether they be arts organisations or individual artists, all with varied levels of digital experience and practising across a range of artistic mediums. You'll be good at listening to what users would like to be able to do and then be able to help them prototype, test, launch and realise those ideas. As a Community Manager you'll be comfortable answering questions and providing technical assistance, while also formalising guides for the platform, and sharing feedback with the project team.
You likely have an interest in interactive media, film, performance and may also have skills across design, film production and other creative technologies. We hope to find someone who has experience working within or with the arts community in Aotearoa New Zealand. Polymorphs and hybrid beings are welcome – come be curious with us! Ideally you will have past experience working on projects that safeguard Matauranga Maori and/or support Toi Maori. Polymorphs and hybrid beings are welcome – come be curious with us!
Location This role would be part time and either a combination of remote work and working from the Auckland, New Zealand office in Ponsonby, or entirely remote.

You will be: – Curious, with a willingness to learn
– Highly organised and detail-oriented – can execute tasks with minimal oversight
– Able to prioritise effectively and juggle multiple streams of communication simultaneously
– Proactive and solution oriented, with a desire to take on new challenges
– Excellent verbal and written communications, comfortable communicating proactively and directly
– Interested in learning and upskilling in new areas
Roles and Responsibilities will include: – Being the friendly point person for users of SOCIAL
– Supporting users to hold meaningful and positive events and exhibitions
– Coordinating with the SOCIAL project team for understanding new releases
– Communicating with SOCIAL users about deployments and updates
– Promote the platform to the arts community
– Tracking incoming new opportunities for the platform
– Supporting with reporting on grants
– Assisting with project documentation
– Assisting with marketing, PR & awards efforts
Nice to Have (but not required) – Familiarity with design tools (Photoshop, InDesign)
– Familiarity with project management tools (Jira, Trello)
– Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies
