About the role As Community Manager you will provide strategic management to enhance the personal growth opportunities for residents at Te Pa Tauira, Otago Polytechnic's Student Village. Your primary responsibilities will be to enhance the experience of residents by:· being the key point of contact on all aspects of the village, · oversee the residential life programme,· develop and foster the Te Pa community to enable personal growth, connection and learning.You will lead a team who support our residents in their day-to-day activities, provide pastoral care and enhance their stay.During the academic year this role from time to time (approx. once a week) will need to work into the evening (likely Thursdays) for pastoral care and resident engagement. You will also be part of a shared after hours point of escalation roster for which is renumerated with an allowance. Ko wai koe | About youOur preferred candidate will be an experienced leader with forming communities and relationships along with a high level of empathy for young adults. You will be customer-centred, highly organised, resilient and have sound judgement. You will have experience in overseeing budgets and meeting financial targets and ideally have managed kaimahi (staff) in previous roles. Your ability to manage time effectively is demonstrated along with an active commitment to ensuring services of the highest quality are consistently provided.A degree qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. An understanding of cultural diversity and the ability to work with a variety of customers is preferred along with familiarity of tertiary education and the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of PracticeThe successful applicant will need to undergo a police check.
