Our client Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora are looking for a Community Health Worker to join their team. Established in 1995, our client provides a range of appropriate, accessible and sustainable health, education and social services that improves the well-being of Iwi and the wider community for all who reside within Kawerau and the Eastern Bay of Plenty region.

Working closely alongside the Registered Nurses across all areas of nursing services provided by Te Whare Haumau Nurse-led clinic, this role delivers patient care under supervision by a Registered Nurse. This full-time role also supports the overall smooth running of the clinic.
Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to: General administration and reception coverProvide support to the nurses with home and clinic appointmentsManage clinic appointment bookingsPrepare health packs and care packs as directedOrdering of stock and suppliesCoordination of Mama and pepi programme and wananga haputangaHealth care promotion and educationReporting Nga pukenga me whai | The ideal candidate requirements: Current First Aid CertificateKnowledge of tikanga/kawa as a minimum along with the ability to successfully work within a Maori organisationsClean full NZ Drivers LicenceAble to develop working relationships with whanau, internal and external stakeholdersExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsWorking knowledge of MedtechExcellent computer literacy skills, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office functionsExcellent organisational and time management skillsHigh attention to detailA commitment to safe work practicesEmpathy, showing respect for clients and their whanauKnowledge and awareness of tikanga Maori culture and history, and an understanding of Te Reo Maori is desirable Why Tuwharetoa ki Kawerau Hauora?
