You will support 13 Area Committees (AC) across the Northland district, as well as Community Health and the wider Hato Hone St John. You will facilitate and support the delivery of high quality, sustainable health-focused community development projects, initiatives and events throughout an assigned District to meet community needs. Travel is required; therefore, a full clean driver's license is essential.Key responsibilities include:Support the Community Engagement Manager (CEM) to provide an effective interface between Hato Hone St John, AC and the local communities.Assist the CEM to support local AC through the transition process to enhance community presence under the model of community engagement.Foster a collaborative approach to local community support, and cultivate vibrant partnerships through supporting the delivery of high quality, sustainable, equitable, geographical and cultural reach of Hato Hone St John and Community Health programmes and services.Develop and maintain proactive and positive local stakeholder relationships that consistently exemplify and promote Hato Hone St John.Promote and assist in achieving local fundraising objectives, maximizing funding opportunities identified at the regional level in collaboration with the CEM and Fundraising team.Support AC with planning, promotion and grant applications for new and existing community initiatives.QualificationsKo wai koe - About you:To be successful in this role, you will have:Experience in community engagement, with a solid understanding of community capability.Experience in collaborating with volunteers and recognize the significant role volunteers play in enhancing community capability and resilience.Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.Possess an innovative mindset, actively seek areas for improvement, and remain open to sharing and collaborating within the team.Strong communication skills, including active listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and collaborators.Adaptability to quickly respond to changes and a flexible approach to meeting varying community needs.Ability to work independently, while maintaining a high level of collaboration, remaining open to suggestions and feedback.Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities with a positive attitude, consistently delivering high standards and outputs.An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi is essential.Strong skills in MS Office along with the ability to interpret financial reports.A full clean New Zealand driver's license.Additional InformationMe pehea te tuku tono - How to apply:Click apply now before applications close on Sunday 5th January 2025.For further information please contact Cheru Pillayon at 0272150197 for a confidential discussion.At Hato Hone St John, we embrace diversity, welcoming everyone to bring their authentic selves to work.
