Ronald McDonald House Charities New ZealandInvercargill Central, SouthlandRMHC New Zealand supports families with a child in hospital, providing a home away from home.The Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room programmes take care of the practical things in life so that families can focus on what really matters – each other.On average we provide roughly 4,500 families annually across New Zealand with accommodation free of charge, saving them over $9.8 million collectively. We are part of a global network which is now over 40 years old, and RMHC has Houses operating in over 62 countries.The OpportunityOur Invercargill team have a permanent part time Community Engagement role available. This role will be based in Invercargill at the Family Room, currently reporting to the National Corporate Partnership Manager.You will support the mission of RMHC NZ with the community fundraising operations of the charity in the lower South Island.Generally, the hours of work will be 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9am until 2.30 pm. However, hours need to be flexible to support community events.Some of the role responsibilities include:• Responsible for the community fundraising, third party event support and annual giving programmes• Successfully implement the fundraising strategy to secure revenue for RMHC NZ• Work cooperatively with the GM Revenue and Partnerships to generate new revenue sources and minimise associated costs.• Support volunteers, families, individuals, organisations or businesses who are undertaking third-party community events• Coordinate volunteers locally and regionally to assist with community fundraising initiatives.• Engage with tertiary facilities and schools to promote self-driven fundraising opportunities for RMHC NZ.• Schedule speaking and engagement opportunities at schools or community group meetings.The successful applicant• Has a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, integrity and creativity. Is highly organised, efficient and great at managing their own time. Ability to work autonomously, as well as being part of a small team.• Is not afraid to ask, on behalf of the families staying at Ronald McDonald House• Values and respects others and can relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences• Has a sense of humour, charisma and an ability to stay cheerful during tough times.
