Be part of a team that brings community voice into council decision making. We're looking for a new team member to provide community engagement planning, advice and delivery for 12 months to cover a parental leave.

Provide engagement planning, advice and delivery across a wide range of issues and projectsGrow community participation through a range of engagement formats including online and kanohi ki te kanohi for projects from across councilSupport others within council to grow their engagement capabilityReview and report on engagement activities including opportunities for innovationO pumanawa | Your skills and experienceThe skills and personal attributes we look for are:
Proven experience in engaging with diverse communities, including Maori and youthExcellent communication and relationship management skillsAbility to work independently, and as part of a team, while managing multiple prioritiesAbility to remain impartial and advocate for the process rather than a specific outcomeDemonstrate digital competencyHold a degree level qualification in a relevant fieldAn IAP2 Certificate of Engagement would be an advantageExperience in deliberative processes and behaviour change is desirableKo wai matou | Who we areToi Moana Bay of Plenty Regional Council is responsible for land, air and water as well as public transport and economic development.
