The Waimakariri District Council is recruiting a part-time Arts Strategy Implementation Facilitator. The successful candidate will be required to work effectively across a broad range of stakeholders in an evolving and growing community environment, guiding and supporting the achievement of the goals and objectives of Nga Toi o Waimakariri - The Waimakariri Arts Strategy.
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can motivate others and encourage innovative thinking to generate solutions to community-identified issues and opportunities related to arts in the Waimakariri District.
To be successful in this position you will demonstrate significant experience in:
Working to a community-led modelWorking with people from a diverse range of cultural, socio-economic, and values-based demographicsNetworkingCommunity EngagementNavigating systems and processes – ideally at the local government levelFacilitating groups, including organizing and running meetingsProject planning and evaluationWorking across a range of sectors, including health, education, business, social, and communityYou will need to be well organized and able to manage a workload of diverse priorities to achieve timely outcomes. You will be able to work well as part of a team. Your ability to build rapport and influence will complement your excellent communication skills. Being passionate and willing to bring energy and enthusiasm will definitely be a plus, as will knowledge and appreciation of the local arts!
It would be advantageous to have had active involvement in a range of communities of interest and have knowledge of governance structures, including Trusts and Incorporated Societies. It is expected that you will have some knowledge of Tikanga Maori and Te Tiriti partnership principles.
