Community Assessment Occupational Therapist Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust – Christchurch, South Island Are you a dynamic community occupational therapist with strong assessment skills, who wants to increase their skill base working with complex injuries in a community environment? We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic occupational therapist (OT) to join our highly skilled interdisciplinary team. Based in Christchurch, we provide a range of assessment services across Canterbury, specialising in complex injury intervention. Our clients are of all ages and include spinal, brain and multi-trauma injuries. We are seeking a therapist who wishes to work across assessment contracts including, level 1 wheelchair/seating, housing modifications, single discipline equipment assessment. Enabling individuals to participate in everyday opportunities. This role has a strong focus on working with clients with complex injuries in a holistic approach. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of the rehabilitation framework Willingness to network and build relationships Willing to travel and have effective time management skills Experience in scripting rehabilitation/ADL community equipment Experience in working with acquired brain injury or spinal cord injury, pressure area management and rehabilitation is important, but training can be provided for the right person Knowledge of ACC contracts would be preferable but not essential.
