As part of the Leadership team, you'll be responsible for translating strategy into action, guiding community development initiatives, and managing key projects that deliver positive social, economic, and cultural outcomes.Working closely with stakeholders across all sectors, you will ensure the Stronger Waitaki Network and Council plans are aligned, supporting mutual goals. You'll also bring strategic leadership to the role, leveraging your expertise in partnership development and project management to secure funding and deliver tangible results for the community.If you're passionate about making a difference in a vibrant district known for its stunning natural beauty, this is the perfect opportunity for you to thrive and grow with us!He aha taau e kawe mai | What you'll bringThe preferred candidate will have:Relevant Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience in community development or a related field, ideally within a medium to large organisation in a complex environment such as local government. A recognised tertiary qualification in a related discipline is essential, along with a full NZ Driver's Licence.Community Development and Strategic Leadership: Demonstrated expertise in building and managing community partnerships, with the ability to lead strategic initiatives that align with Council objectives and community wellbeing goals. Experience working within a collective impact model and fostering collaborations with stakeholders across various sectors.Legislative Knowledge and Application: Strong understanding of relevant local government legislation, policies, and procedures, with the ability to navigate regulatory environments and apply this knowledge in developing community development strategies.Project Management and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and deliver community-focused projects, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve positive social, economic, and cultural outcomes for the district.Mo tatou | About usWaitaki District Council (WDC) is a dynamic and progressive local government organisation dedicated to serving the residents and communities of the Waitaki District.
