------------------------------------------ TE TURANGA | THE ROLE: As our Communications Partner, you'll play a key role in engaging with the media to share the exciting stories behind Sky's entertainment and sports content.
You'll be responsible for generating media coverage that highlights how we deliver amazing content to our customers through our diverse range of products, including Sky Box, Sky Pod, Neon, Sky Sport Now, and Sky Broadband.
What you'll do: In this dynamic role, every day brings new challenges and opportunities.
You'll work across Sky's wide-ranging sport and entertainment content, partnering with our valued partners across sports codes and content houses, to shape stories and address issues, all in service of helping to maintain Sky's positive reputation.
Your key responsibilities will include: Work with the Head of Communications to develop and implement proactive and reactive PR strategies that enhance and protect the reputation of Sky's content, products and services.
Build and nurture strong connections and relationships with local media and partner PR teams to ensure our stories resonate with the right audiences.
Collaborate closely with teams across marketing, social media, and ad sales to ensure a cohesive flow of information and support across the business.
Keep our Sky Crew informed about how Sky is featured in the media, promoting a culture of transparency and pride in our communication efforts.
NGA PUKENGA ME NGA WHEAKO | WHAT YOU WILL BRING?
We're looking for a proactive self-starter with a strong background in either sports or entertainment PR.
Your ability to persuade, influence, and connect with people will be crucial to your success in this role.
Essential Experience: 6+ years of public relations experience, ideally with a focus on sports or entertainment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills—you know how to make your message resonate.
A track record of developing and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong planning and execution skills—you're organised and can manage multiple media opportunities simultaneously.
Demonstrated track record of issues management Able to thrive under pressure and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
Creative thinking to generate innovative ideas and approaches.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with various internal and external platforms.
Preferred Experience: Established connections with New Zealand media and/or Sky's partners.
A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing.
