New Zealand Rugby (NZR) is on the lookout for a strategic Communications professional to join our dynamic team on a fixed-term (maternity cover) basis as the Communications Manager - Fans.
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in managing communications and engagement for our dedicated rugby community, including our fans and commercial partners.
About the role
Fixed-term (parental leave cover)
The Communications Manager - Fans will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategic communication plans that drive engagement with rugby and connect fans to the game.
This role involves managing communications activities for Super Rugby Pacific, Super Rugby Aupiki, NZR+, and Test Matches, while collaborating with internal teams to create impactful campaigns and events that resonate with our diverse audience.
The role will build and maintain strong relationships with media to ensure proactive coverage of NZR initiatives, contributing to brand visibility and commercial success.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Proven experience in strategic communications, marketing and media within a high-profile organisation.
Exceptional relationship-building and management skills.
Creative thinking with the ability to navigate a complex landscape.
Experience working as part of a high profile corporate, sporting or major event organisation would be advantageous.
Previous experience as a writer or editor would be beneficial.
