About the opportunity | Ko te aheinga: Cyclone Gabrielle has had a significant impact on the infrastructure, environment and communities in our region. This is why HBRC is boosting the capacity in its Infrastructure Programme Management Office (IPMO) – a dedicated team of experts who are actively engaged in recovery work. This work is diverse and interesting, offering a rare opportunity to be part of a flood network redesign for an entire region, work that will continue to unfold over the next ten years. These projects will make a real difference for Hawke's Bay, being a part of these exciting initiatives will bring you immense job satisfaction and a feeling of true achievement. This is a permanent and full-time opportunity that will require you to be based in Hawke's Bay as part of a wider delivery team in the IPMO. The Communications Advisor role will focus on providing comms and marketing advice to key internal and external stakeholders to progress these critical projects. This role involves cultivating a thorough understanding of the projects, key stakeholder groups, serving as a primary contact for community members with concerns, addressing specific enquiries, and supporting the Engagement Advisor's work and broader C&E team. In this role, you would also need to assist colleagues involved in the Council flood infrastructure rebuild projects, collaborate with the HBRC corporate communications & engagement team, and work across the organisation to guarantee cohesive communication within and between projects. About you | E pa ana ki a koe: To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate: Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification and/or a minimum of 4 years' experience in a relevant field. An understanding of and experience in local government would be preferable but not essential. A proactive and open-minded approach to problem solving in your work. Collaborative team practices and a willingness to actively engage in building a positive team culture. Resilience, adaptability, and flexibility to keep up with the ever-changing nature of the project environment and HBRC as an organisation. A highly developed ability in written communications. What we offer | Nga huanga mou: The salary range for the Communications Advisor role is between $78,120 to $86,800, depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
