Punga Cove and Furneaux Lodge are a direct boat ride out from Picton and located right on the Queen Charlotte Track - being a popular stop for walkers, mountain bikers and local boaties. Accessible mostly by boat, we pride ourselves on being a unique offering nestled on the Queen Charlotte Track.
About the Role - Mo tenei turangi mahi We are looking for an energetic Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The primary purpose of this position is to offer guests an exceptional first-class dining experience, by providing exceptional meals to our restaurant patrons. Our menus are based around seasonal produce, showcasing the fantastic artisan products produced locally in Marlborough. As a Commis Chef, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced chefs, learn from the best and contribute to creating exceptional dishes that delight our guests.
What we offer – He aha ta matou e tuku In return for your hard work we offer a very competitive package, along with free water transport to and from Picton on your days off, and onsite meals and accommodation for a small charge. Couples are most welcome to apply - if your partner has hospitality experience then we would love to hear from them also. Due to room configuration, the accommodation is not suitable for families.

About You - Ko nga wheako ou Being a team player is the key to the success of these roles. A high level of English is paramount for good communication in a busy kitchen environment. Respecting others, good work ethics and being able to work across different locations, as and when required. You will need previous kitchen experience and be confident with producing an excellent breakfast for our guests. What's important is that you can show us your commitment to greatness and you are flexible for shifts that include weekends and love to work with a motivated kitchen team.
