O.G.B is a bar in the heart of Christchurch that's grounded in old-fashioned style, quality, and service. Housed in the once "Old Government Buildings", from which it draws its name and inspiration, O.G.B has both a quiet old-world ambiance during the day and a roaring, fiery soul at night. Home to the main O.G.B Bar, Parlour Lounge, sprawling Courtyard, and Frederick Woodwards Barbershop.
We are currently looking for a Commis Chef/Demi Chef to join our team.
This position requires the following:
Preparing, cooking, and delivering high-quality meals for O.G.B Bar and Parlour Functions.
Guaranteeing an exceptionally high standard of culinary services offered to our guests.
Helping lesser experienced kitchen staff during service and training them on new cooking techniques and in-house recipes when appropriate.
Duly applying cooking instructions from the Head Chef.
Preparing the company's food offerings in alignment with the company branding, message, positioning, market, and vision.
Complying with food hygiene, safety, and quality in the O.G.B venues.
Coordinating with Front of House Staff to ensure that the service runs smoothly at all times, including altering dishes at guests' requests to suit various dietary requirements.
Managing kitchen stock, supplies, and ordering within budget as directed.
Ensuring that equipment and appliances are used correctly and kept in good order.
Assisting with menu development and planning, in line with Gross Profit/Cost of Goods targets.
Completing daily ordering with various suppliers when required.
Ensuring a high level of cleanliness is maintained at all times.
Carrying out your duties with honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times.
Experience in a commercial kitchen is a bonus, as is a NZ Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) or higher.
