This position is a fully remote role; however, we do prefer someone on the east coast. Position Summary: The Commercial Strategy & Optimization Lead provides leadership and strategic guidance for key initiatives and activities designed to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and impact of the Commercial organization. This role collaborates closely with all commercial leaders and functions (BD, Marketing, Proposals Development, Contracting), as well with members of our Clinical Solutions, Translational Science and other business areas. This role partners with the Chief Commercial Officer to set and deploy commercial strategy and will play an important role in defining and driving projects across the organization.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to: Together with the CCO, spearheads the development and implementation of the annual and long-range Commercial strategy.Identifies opportunities to improve commercial impact – with a focus on filling the funnel and improving win rate – and leads the execution and implementation of associated initiatives.Partners with other Commercial and Operations team members to develop and deploy an effective framework for identifying, pursuing and securing preferred partnership opportunities.Identifies approaches to increase sale of bundled service/capabilities to new clients and expand the footprint of existing relationships.Maintains deep understanding of commercial, competitor, and regulatory landscapes, and the resultant impact on commercial strategy and operations.Identifies enhancements to reporting and tracking tools to aid in the identification of issues, opportunities and trends, and to inform commercial strategy and tactics.Actively engages in activities designed to fortify the Commercial team culture (townhalls, annual sales meetings, routine communications, etc.).Collaborates with the CCO to drive the agenda and engagement of the Commercial Leadership Team.Qualifications: Other Required: Minimum of 10 years of prior CRO, biotech/pharma, or life sciences consulting experience with a strong focus on sales and marketing.Travel as required to manage and support business objectives (up to 35%).Preferred: MBA or MS.Skills: Strong business acumen, including strategic planning and execution, project management, and process enhancement and design.Structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving.Expert communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building capabilities.Strong executive presence and ability to project confidence without arrogance.Advanced sense of intellectual curiosity.Change management.Confidentiality and ability to use judgment and discretion with sensitive company/employee information.Developing and deploying commercial strategy and tactics.Managing and/or overseeing management of multiple projects simultaneously.Moving from strategy to action, and ensuring new processes and tools take hold in an organization.Influencing colleagues and peers toward action without having direct line reporting authority.Collaborating with diverse stakeholders including partner organizations.Prioritizing and making trade-offs across a broad set of opportunities in order to maximize impact, while maintaining business focus and delivery.Balancing opportunity for greater process and structure with need to preserve a culture of agility and nimbleness required to effectively serve our clients.Natural inclination toward a client- and patient-centric mindset.Compensation: Precision is required by law in some states or cities to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.
Reasonable estimate of the current range: $175,000 - $266,000 USD.
