This role will sit within the Softlines team, based out of the New Zealand office. Working with key partners to drive the consumer products business across both mass market, grocery and specialty retail. The management of a leading NZ retailer DTR (Direct to Retail) account and driving new business opportunities within New Zealand retail is core to this role. The role will also manage a portfolio of Australian based partners & retailers remotely. The Commercial Manager will be responsible for maximising the sub-categories within Softlines that they manage and delivering AOP (budget). The role will work closely with internal stakeholders, develop plans to support category growth and build strong relationship with licensees and retailers to deliver meaningful programmes to consumers. This role will involve:
Partner Management
Manage key licensee accounts across sub-categories within the Softlines ANZ business
Manage key retail stakeholders across specialty, grocery and mass market
Contract/Finance
Responsible for achieving AOP (budget) target for all managed partners
INvision (Disney financial system) data entry for all managed licensees
Analysis of licensee performance
Category Expertise
Develop understanding of Softlines trends locally and globally in both license and generic, across the Softlines portfolio
Develop understanding of retail needs and environment, including overall company performance and strategic direction with particular focus on retailers and channels which align with licensee core competencies
Brand Champion
Represent and drive the priorities across the Disney portfolio, ensuring these are positioned to partners in relevant ways for their business
Champion specific brand portfolios across the broader Softlines team as required
Marketing Responsibilities
Supported by our ANZ Retail Brand Development Marketing team
Deliver local New Zealand marketing strategy and play book
Deliver bespoke local marketing campaigns, as required
Liaise with local media and agencies, as required
Ideal experience:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales or marketing environment.
Tertiary qualifications in Business/Marketing would be an advantage.
Licensing experience would be an advantage.
Financial experience with relation to forecasting and budgeting.
Good understanding of the New Zealand retail environment.
Willingness to travel.
Ability to work remotely, reporting into Australian based Senior Commercial Manager.
