Syos Aerospace, an innovative aviation startup based in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Manager to join our talented team.About The RoleAs the Commercial Manager, your passion, energy and expertise will enable you to manage our IP governance and protection, manage the obligations under our development grants and support the CEO in progressing and formalizing business development initiatives. Essentially, you will be a senior member of our team, responsible for all IP/legal/contract matters for Syos.Key responsibilities include:Documenting the Company's IP development map, requiring an understanding of software development and product engineering, and the application of relevant IP laws and the Company's rights under development contractsManage and optimise the company's IP protection strategy, including interactions with legal advisersAssist in negotiation of sales contractsManage all commercial contract compliance and timetables, including all deliverables such as notices, progress reports, supply of product and invoicing, requiring close working relationship with Product Development, Manufacturing and Finance teamsManage all key commercial relationships that contribute to overheads, such as office leases and consultantsManage HSE regulatory compliance, including policies, registers and processesManage the reporting to shareholders, including monthly updates, in consultation with the CEOAbout YouMinimum of 5 years' experience as a stand-alone commercial managerStrong background in IP law, particularly in respect of software and mechanical engineeringProven experience with leading and negotiating contract and commercial negotiationsStrong commercial acumenStrong relationship management skills, including ability to engage with and influence internal and external stakeholdersA strong leader who is also capable of rolling their sleeves up and getting things doneHighly analytical with exceptional attention to detail and accuracyAbout The CompanyOur company, Syos Aerospace, is an exciting early-stage NZ tech business, developing utilitarian autonomous vehicles for dual-use applications.
