Commercial and Operations Manager, 2IC to CEO This opportunity is with a highly successful, long-established multi-site retail business focused on the outdoor pursuits/leisure/adventure sports sectors. The business has an excellent reputation in terms of product quality and delivery, serving customers through its forty store New Zealand network. The position of Commercial and Operations Manager reports directly to the CEO and plays a critical role in the company's ongoing development and success. The role will manage all commercial/operational aspects within the company from a legal, financial and high-level strategic perspective, with the objective that everyday operations are delivered in an efficient and profitable manner, whilst also working with the CEO on project initiatives, including brand expansion and systems enhancement. Duties will include: Responsible for overseeing the Finance Team and HR obligations. Leading commercial arrangements and negotiations from a legal perspective. Development of an agreed strategy for expansion into international markets. Development of commercial brand licensing and company distributor agreements in new markets. Management of the company's brand IP across new markets. Development of an agreed strategy for expansion of the New Zealand business. Onboarding of potential new members into the cooperative, and development of operational policy documents. Development of new commercial sales opportunities for the company in the Business2Business environment. Working with cooperative members and business advisory members. Implementation of new systems to improve operational efficiencies at Head Office level, and across the broader group. For this role we are seeking candidates with strong legal/finance/operations management experience, ideally gained within progressive, multi-site retail environments. Candidates will be skilled in high level contract negotiation and will have a strong understanding of brand IP law and related issues. Candidates should be skilled in understanding IT structures, retail point of sales systems and e-commerce, and will possess a high level of overall commercial awareness. This role will work closely with the CEO on several significant projects aimed at company expansion, and refinement of internal systems and procedures.
