We are seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our New Zealand Distribution team. In this pivotal role, you will partner with our Commercial Manager to provide robust financial analytics and deep insights into the financial performance of the business. You will also develop, plan, and execute strategic analytics; provide insightful financial and non-financial analyses; support decision-making; and contribute to the achievement of our business' current & long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain robust financial models to support decision-making and business planning.
Implement new Business Intelligence tools & processes to support providing meaningful insights.
Track the effectiveness of implemented strategies, utilising KPIs to evaluate outcomes and suggesting adjustments as required.
Improve and maintain a structured forecasting & budgeting tool to help complete monthly/full-year forecasts. Ensure outcomes are clear and potential issues are identified.
Develop strong and effective stakeholder relationships to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Proactively identify value-adding initiatives & undertake ad-hoc projects as required by the business.
About you:
Extensive financial modeling and data management skills.
1-2 years of relevant analytical experience in a Big 4 / Management Consulting firm or a Corporate Finance team.
Understanding of financial and accounting methodologies and how to apply key concepts, tools, and metrics around analysing financial performance.
Strong commercial acumen: understanding of what drives strong business performance.
Analytical skills, numeric reasoning, and problem-solving: core toolkit for driving insight and out-of-the-box thinking.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to senior leaders.
Critical mindset with the ability to work under pressure and be adaptable.
Bachelor of Business or Commerce is preferred.
