This presents an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Commercial Advisor to play a role in shaping the future of Kaipara.

About the Role We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Advisor to join our team, managing the commercial activities of Council and providing expert advice on procurement policies, land sales, and commercial leases and licenses. This role is pivotal in ensuring our policies and practices are aligned with business needs and legislative requirements, while supporting strategic objectives and community interests.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting and managing commercial reviews, negotiations, renewals, and terminations of leases and licenses. Advising on procurement policies, plans, tender documents, and contract evaluations. Overseeing property sales, acquisitions, and develop related policies ensuring compliance and efficiency. Identifying and improving frameworks, policies, and procedures for procurement and property management. Managing Council owned forests and arranging for harvest and sale of mature forestry. About you You will possess a keen eye for detail, strong decision-making abilities, excellent communication and coordination skills, as well as effective negotiation skills and the ability to work within tight timelines to provide innovative solutions.
In addition, you will have:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role within property management/procurement, preferably in a local government or public sector setting. A relevant tertiary degree. Working knowledge of the Reserves Act. Experience working with the Local Government Act, Privacy Act and other relevant legislation.
