Job Description: As a Commercial Accountant with my client, you will be playing a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for overseeing various financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations that support their business objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and stakeholders. Monitor key performance indicators and provide actionable insights to drive business performance. Partner with department heads to develop and track departmental budgets and ensure alignment with overall company objectives. Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Mentor junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA or CPA or equivalent certification preferred. 3+ years of progressive experience in audit, finance or accounting roles. Could suit coming straight out of practice or 1 or 2 years in commerce. Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis techniques. Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset. Ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business results.
