Collections Librarian

We're on a quest to find a Collection Librarian who's ready to take their talents off the shelf and join our passionate team. The role is perfect for someone who dreams of curating a collection that inspires, educates and entertains. The Collection Librarian's role involves selecting, organising and managing a diverse range of books, e-books and multimedia for our library network.
What you'll be doing:
Lead the development and maintenance of the district's collections
Contribute as an effective, proactive and positive member of the Libraries Leadership team
Contribute to a 'one team, district wide' culture within the broader Library team and across CODC
Work with the Library Assistants to support with any technology requirements
Work with the library teams to provide resources to assist patrons in their reading selections
Support and promote the use of Te Reo Maori me ona tikanga across physical and digital platforms
Build commitment to CODC's vision, values and services
You will need the following attributes:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or similar would be an advantage but not essential
A minimum of four years' experience
Experience with collection management tools
Relationship, stakeholder and financial management experience
Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and understanding of library management and processes
Working knowledge of collection management and information services principles and practices
Excellent communication skills – written, spoken and interpersonal
