RTC operates from multiple locations, including Mt Maunganui, Hinuera, Otorohanga and Te Awamutu. ABOUT THE JOB: Job Purpose: We are looking for two COF B Inspectors, one to be located at our Mount Maunganui Workshop and the other to be located at our Hinuera Workshop (with opportunities to travel). As a COF B Inspector at RTC, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety and compliance standards within the heavy transport sector. Key Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspections of heavy vehicles to assess their mechanical condition and compliance with COF regulations. Evaluate vehicle components such as brakes, suspension, steering, tires, and lights to ensure they meet safety standards. Verify documentation and records to confirm vehicle ownership, registration, and compliance history. Identify and document any defects or non-compliance issues found during inspections and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Communicate inspection findings clearly and professionally to clients and stakeholders, providing guidance on necessary repairs or maintenance. Maintain accurate records of inspection results, including digital reports and documentation. Stay informed about changes in COF regulations and industry standards and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements. Collaborate with team members to optimise inspection processes and enhance service quality. Keep ahead of industry developments and updates in COF regulations to ensure compliance and best practices. ABOUT YOU: Legal and Other Requirements: Must adhere to NZTA requirements and regulations. Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols. Qualification and Experience: Possession of a Certificate of Fitness (COF) Inspector qualification issued by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA), or willingness to gain qualification. Proven experience in automotive inspection, with a focus on heavy vehicles. COF A, WOF, COF PSV, COF B PSV is an advantage, not a necessity but willingness to gain.
