CNC Programmer Rocket Lab's Machine Shop is responsible for the advanced machinery across our global manufacturing sites to get our satellites, satellite components, and rockets out the door.
As a CNC Programmer, your objective is to produce quality machined parts, maximizing production and machine utilization on the equipment to which you are assigned.
You are expected to be an expert in the field, capable of developing smart machining methods while also providing sound manufacturing advice to engineers.
All programmers at Rocket Lab prepare toolpaths and operate a range of manual and CNC mills and lathes.
They are expected to be experts at getting things done.
They model hard work, are hands-on, and work systematically and tidily.
Multiple positions are available in Auckland and Warkworth.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO: CAM programming, toolpath simulation, and post-processingInterpreting engineering drawings and delivering components that are within specificationMachine setting including custom fixturing, vice or chuck changeover, setting work coordinate systems, loading, and measuring toolsProving safety and accuracy of programs through simulation, dry runs, and checking code prior to runningIn-process part inspection and measurementsYOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: Able to demonstrate 3+ years of relevant industry experienceCAM-based programmingTHESE SKILLS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: High level of workmanshipFanuc, Siemens, and Mitsubishi CNC controlsManual machiningExcellent attention to detail and record-keepingAbility to work independently and deliver against deadlinesAdheres to standardized processesIf you have CNC programming experience and have worked in aerospace, aviation, defense, marine, motorsports, or similar, apply now - all applications are reviewed and considered.
